What Makes Us Special

Here at Plant Baked, we work hard to keep it real. We choose quality and sustainability over convenience. Many of our key ingredients are hand made in our kitchen to provide you with real and preservative-free treats. We put in extra time and effort to produce high quality, cruelty-free homemade goods with real and natural ingredients. By choosing to make these simple ingredients in the house, we not only make it better for you, but we also help eliminate unnecessary plastic waste that would result from purchasing prepackaged ingredients.

When shipping freshly baked goods nationwide, packaging is an important factor. Despite the ease of accessibility and affordability of plastic packaging, we are all aware of how environmentally harmful it is. After extensive research we have found packaging solutions that are better for our planet. Though more costly and harder to obtain, we have committed to using sustainable packaging and shipping solutions for all of our products.

House Made Tahini

Our tahini is made in house, with only roasted sesame seeds and no additional oils. This 100% natural tahini is used in our healthy cookie dough balls as an alternative to butter and in our tahini glazed pumpkin mini loaves for the perfect nuttiness.

House Made Aquafaba

Our baked goods use aquafaba as an alternative to using eggs and egg whites. Aquafaba is the water in which chickpeas, pulses, and legumes are cooked. We use our own chickpeas to make our own aquafaba, and then use the chickpeas to make our healthy chickpea cookie dough.

Environment Friendly Packaging

Packaging baked goods for shipment is a tricky process, considering the number of things that could go wrong. Many may opt to using plastic products as they are efficient at maintaining the freshness and appearance of the product. However, some us are too careless to recycle materials appropriately and many types of plastic are not even recyclable. And these plastics will persist and live on the Earth for about 400 years, and continue to kill any remaining sea life for 400 years. Paper products take roughly 2 to 6 weeks to decompose, and unbleached or uncoated products leave behind no harmful chemicals. So instead, we use unbleached biodegradable soy wax paper, bakery boxes, and shipping boxes to package each of our products. We have chosen these items with careful consideration, and would ask all customers to properly reuse or dispose of the packaging included with each product.

Eliminating Food Waste

Food waste is a growing issue in the world today, especially in the U.S.A., where 40% of the food produced ends up in a landfill. The food dumped in these landfills generates large amounts of methane, naturally having harmful effects on our environment. We personally have been producing little food waste in our everyday lives for years now, and have brought that knowledge with us into the production kitchen. Our first step to preventing food waste is baking to order. Our dry ingredients are stocked and replenished on a monthly basis. All fresh ingredients and anything requiring refrigeration is purchased depending on our weekly order volume. This technique ensures a significant reduction in food waste in our kitchen. Some of our products take only a part of an ingredient, for example aquafaba from chickpeas. However we do not let the chickpeas go to waste. We have taken this versatile ingredient and turned it into a healthy scrumptious cookie dough! We have now and in the future committed to making the most out of our ingredients to ensure sustainability in our production kitchen.
